Hi, I often read your site and have a request.
I am the nephew of the late (and GREAT) Speedway motor cycle developer/builder/tuner/team owner CHARLIE OGDEN.
I am in my 60's, and Uncle Charlie never allowed me to ride bikes, as he (and Aunty Ivy) said it was too dangerous, (especially after he lost Gordon Guasco).
However, I am after a CHARLIE OGDEN bike now as a family keepsake/memorial of our late uncle.
I have contacted a few of his old riders with little success.
Can you help me track down an OGDEN bike, it will be treasured, and still be displayed or ridden at vintage events as required.
Our family has some Ogden memorabilia, but an actual example of his work would be treasured.
We want to preserve for eternity this history of Australian Speedway.
Hope you can help....Best regards, Neil Freeland. email@example.com
Hi Brian, I am selling my genuine 48 Kurtis Kraft Offenhauser speedcar. The dash plate reads as follows. O- 326-48. This car was bought new in 48 by Gays Biro who raced it in USAC in the Midwest and Ohio area against Tattersell etc. This car was fully restored in 92 by John Hadjuk ( Motorkraft) in Indiana. This car was in a private museum in Indiana for 20 years and was never run. Every part on this car was restored to new condition regardless of cost. I bought the car in 2010 and since it has done 15 laps of Speedway City at idling speed at the head of the Australian Speedcar Title. Car comes with Original Halibrand wheels not the ones in the photo. Price $65,000 Ono

History of this car Wanted
We are trying to find out the history of this car and wonder if any of your members can help us-------The car was purchased by John Walsh of Adelaide around 1982---it had its first race in Adelaide on Boxing Day evening 1983 driven by Jeff Ellison. He rode a wheel and completely destroyed the car---he had it painted yellow number 20--the car was purchased by Don Hunt(present owner) in 1984 in pieces----the car had a removable top left hand chassis bar that suggests it had a vw motor at some time--the car came to Adelaide and raced the one and only time(prior to demolition) with a 13B rotary motor---any help greatly appreciated--- cheers Dave Bissell

G’day Brian, I am looking to find a Austin speedway car or any info on what was around. any class or model. Can I advertise this on your site. Maybe someone has raced an a30 or a40 or something like that. thanks Noel
I have a rather unique fuel filler cap. It is from the Scarab (Reventlow) effort back in the 50s-60s. My Uncle-in-Law, Warren Olson had this in his collection. Warren was a well known driving force in the Scarab efforts.
This cap is inscribed as manufactured by "ENOTS". Also marked "Benton Stove Ltd., Birmingham" and "Made in England".
In rather good condition. It is important to note that this fuel cap is a FOUR inch hose connection. A rare part. $500 firm.

I would be most grateful if you could assist us in attempting to find one of our old TQ’s.
The attached photo is the first built Trinick and Wilkins, Wedge TQ, built during the 1970’s and was fitted with an ESO engine. Following cars were built and went to customers in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Later cars were fitted with cages.
All except one, were fitted with Jawa engines – the exception was fitted with a Kawasaki 3 cylinder two stroke engine.
Modern Motor Magazine did a “feature article” on these cars in the February 1973 edition.
Thank you kindly and regards,
