Bob Hamilton started racing Solo's, Sidecars on short circuit and scrambles in 1956 aged 19 years and won 3rd place at the QLD Sidecar Scramble Championship 1958. He commenced speedway solo racing at Redcliffe Showgrounds in 1958. Was state rep against NSW, England and European teams at Parramatta, Toowoomba, Brisbane. Captained by Keith Gurtner he raced against Ivan Mauger, Ken McKinlay, Mike Broadbanks, Arne Carlson, Bill Bryden, Bob Sharp etc.
Bob Hamilton retired in 1962 after the tragic death of Des Simon at the Ekka.
